Everybody knows what is transformer furniture, for instance when a coffee table transforms into a large dining table. But it is the first time we see a transformer house where living zones can revolve transforming the spaces each time.
This miraculous Sharifi-ha House located in the center of Teheran is an embodied dream of many people who wish to change their living space from time to time. The authors of this ingenious project are architects of the Spanish bureau Nextoffice.
The area of the mansion makes up about 1400 square meters. It is situated among dense building raws and consists of six storeys including two underground floors. Third, fourth and fifth levels of the building are equipped with transforming mechanisms.
A parking area and premises for maintenance stuff are situated on the second floor. Starting from the third floor there are residential apartments. Besides the house has some great bonuses – covered pool with the glass roof, pond, cinema, spacious workout room and a lounge area that are situated at the basement.
The whole house is finished exceptionally with high-quality and natural materials. It also features gold leaf decor and designer’s lamps. The interior is minimalistic and looks incredibly elegant and cozy.
But not only its gorgeous decor makes the house so special but its ability to transform spaces. In summer some rooms of Sharifi-ha house can turn into opened terraces with splendid city views supplying the rooms with natural light and ventilation. In winter these spaces that are wooden blocks slide inside the house.
The mechanism installed in these constructions is similar to the one that is used for theater stages spin. All details of the blocks including stairs and hand-rails are absolutely safe for residents.
Each spinning wooden cube is equipped with all necessary appliances and is a full-fledged room. They are autonomus from each other and can be turned separately that allows residents creating their own living space without hindering other dwellers.
