This year English designer show designjunction 2014 will host bespoke restaurants, pop-up shops and live industrial workshops.
The event will take place on 18-21 of September within London Design Festival. designjunction 2014 will gather more than 180 international design companies, retail and innovation brands on four floors of The Sorting Office on New Oxford Street.
Pendant by Dowse
The ground floor will be represented by live Flash Factories, where design and craft businesses including tile specialists Bert & May and Irish crystal manufacturer Waterford Crystal will show some parts of industrial processes.
The Convert Vase by Another Studio
British manufacturer Coakley & Cox is going to show live upholstery with the help of traditional techniques. Waterford Crystal will demonstrate its master cutters’ workmanship.

It will be the first time for Bert & May in the show – they will show hand-making tiles made with the help of a hydraulic press brought from rural Andalusia, Spain. They are also going to show their new collection of tiles called Fletcha.

On the ground floor twenty-five brands including Outline Editions, Punkt and Magma will represent their design-led products – from fashion accessories to books, watches, lighting etc.
Tom Dixon will show its collection and Alessi is going to please the visitors with pop-up shops and café.
Rabbit Light by Room 9
The guests will have the chance to visit some cafés and restaurants represented by Transport for London together with coffee specialists La Marzocco.

The Chilean Embassy will represent the wine bar on the first floor, while Asahi Beer joined with Foundry to build a special bar on the first floor.

Part of our ground floor will be transformed into a premise with interactive Flash Factories where the processes of industrial production will be brought to life with the help of live demonstrations. Flash Factories will be presented by Coakley & Cox, Waterford Crystal, Bert & May and Soderlund Davidson.

During the show the guests will enjoy high-end design pop-up shops. Over 25 retailers will represent their shops that are going to bring unique shopping experience even to the most exacting customers. Products will range from high-end fashion accessories to jewellery, watches, ceramics, glasses, books, lighting etc. The key retail brands are Outline Editions, Punkt, Magma, Places & Spaces, and Native Union.

Bars and restaurants
Designjunction 2014 is going to represent the most high-end eateries and bars on all four floors on the complex.
Second floor – Transport for London Restaurant
Transport for London (TfL) that celebrates the year of the bus is going to represent an exclusive restaurant in partnership with the East London Liquor Company. This restaurant is actually a huge copy of the map of Outer London, as well as archive photos of buses and bus workers and a stand made of reclaimed vintage bus stops.
The space will be furnished by leading British furniture brand, Modus, with pieces upholstered in the latest TfL fabrics from Kirkby Design. The space will be atmospherically lit using products from leading lighting brands Anglepoise and NUD.
First Floor – La Marzocco Café and Chilean Wine Bar
Italian coffee experts, La Marzocco, will represent an authentic Italian café that will serve a new brand of coffee each day. To help visitors to get a true taste of Italy, Gelupo is going to serve it exclusive ice creams.
There will be a bar from the Chilean Embassy on the first floor that will serve the finest Chilean wines.
Ground Floor – Alessi pop-up Café
The icon of Italian design Alessi will show its pop-up café and bar that is going to serve Italian aperitivos and coffee from coffee makers Noble Espresso.
Basement – Foundry Bar and Lounge, supported by Asahi Beer
After visiting all ventures of the exhibition, the guests can come to the basement to enjoy some drink and listen to the live music.

Designjunction has established itself as the main destination for contemporary design and culture. Known for its dynamic selection of the latest global brands, the festival is the leader of bringing together the leading manufacturers within a professional space.
In 2013, Designjunction hosted more than 150 world brands set at the very heart of London. The five day exhibition attracted more than 21 000 guests and occurred to be seven times larger than the first exhibition opened in 2011.
In April 2014, Designjunction carried the fourth exhibition in Milan, in a historic 18th-century building in Milan’s fashion district. The show attracted more than 10 000 visitors in five days.
