The authors of this design project are architects of YOD Dеsign Lab from Kiev Vladimir Nepiyvoda and Dmitriy Bonesko.
Food&Forest restaurant with the area of 600 square meters is situated in a picturesque place of Poltava region, in Sosnovka village. The establishment is a part of country hotel complex Relax Park VERHOLY.
Location of the complex, its proximity to nature was a leitmotif of designer’s solutions and selection of decor styles of the premises.
In spite of abundance of wood and dark finishes, design of the restaurant is light and not overloaded with unnecessary details. Huge bay windows help visitors to completely sink into the atmosphere of forest fairy tale providing splendid views to the surrounding landscapes.
Materials used in finishing are all natural. The interior features wood, copper, stone, leather and slate. The majority of them are of Ukrainian production. For instance, gabbro stone was delivered from Zhitomir, and leather panels were represented by Nikolaev manufacturer.
Cabinet furniture and tables are also custom-made by Ukrainian factories. A part of lamps is a team-work of two companies from Kiev and Kharkov.
A special trademark of interior design of the restaurant as well as the central element of the space is a large gas fire with piles of logs on its front. The fire is 4 meters long.
Common guest hall features four sitting areas. A sofa area where 4-6 persons can comfortably sit at each table is situated near plate-glass windows. Visitors can enjoy surrounding nature from here. The designers organically introduced wooden elements into this atmosphere – tables, sofas with wooden legs and Spanish stand lamps.
Other sitting area is on both sides of the fire. It is overwhelmed with the atmosphere of warmth and coziness. There is an industrial accent made by shade-off lamps that are fixed on metallic constructions. By the way, the authors of these lamps are YOD Dеsign Lab designers themselves.
Third area is near a shop-window with confectionery. The kitchen of the confectionary workshop is perfectly seen from this place so each guest can personally watch the process of the desserts creation.
Fourth guest area located on a small dais is near the bar and conventionalized shop-window displaying restaurant’s own products.
In addition to the common hall there is a private space in Food&Forest. Central elements of this premise is a huge gorgeous table with an oak countertop. This hall is meant for 12 persons. As the building’s front, the walls are finished with African stone.
