Katie Stratton is an artist from Ohio, who creates amazing paintings and is an author of popular blog called Katie’s Pencil Box. And if you hadn’t heard nothing about her before, it is time to know something about her art.
Today we wish to make a little tour in a Katie’s home. The interior of this wonderful bright artist’s loft truly goes along with her personality that is seen in her works.
The most favourite place in our small house is the loft. This is a captivating space where you can just sit and relax, read, paint, dream and seek for inspiration. Besides, this is the main room where my 8-year-old son Max always wishes to play with his friends. In other words, the loft is something like a club and fort for all of us!
According to the artist, when she planned the loft, she decided to keep wooden floor boards on the attic. Katie likes that all of them are wear and rough.
When I was a little girl, I liked climbing high the tree and read book there till the dawn. This inspired me to make design of the loft – the place where I can climb and hide doing my favorite things
Katies says that the attic was too small so she decided not to overload it: a couple of stools and a small table are sufficient for a normal space functionality.
Like all other rooms of the house, the loft requires overhaul. Katie told she had great plans about it: in future she wants to install attic windows or skylight.
