Designer’s studio LOG-URBIS completed design and construction of the Olive House – an impressive building located on Pag Island in Croatia.
According to the architects, the project concept calls up with «local peculiarities like southern orientation of a plot, sea view, Mediterranean climate perfect for outdoor living, traditional stone constructions of the island, traditional wooden blinds and verandas as well as the local Dalmatian vegetation».
Red stone, which is extracted on the island, was used for building of terraces on different levels overlooking nice coastal houses.
The house was designed for everyday living of a married couple who often receive their children and friends at home. Upper floor includes main premises that surround internal yard with the olive tree growing inside.
Kitchen, dining room, terrace and summer kitchen face beautiful slopes; the living area with a pool overlooks the sea. The lower storey includes additional facilities: wine cellar, laundry and facility rooms, as well as the areas for relax and workout overlooking the covered terrace and 17-meter long rectangular pool.
We’d also like to note a green roof, eco-friendly materials, geothermal pump system and solar collectors.
